There is information about the California State Loan Repayment Program is partnering with the Steven M. Thompson Physician Corps Loan Repayment Program alerting potential health care providers of funding that is available for primary healthcare providers who commit to a three-year service obligation at a public or private non-profit facility that is located in a Health Professional Shortage Area.

In addition, there is information regarding the Cal-SEARCH, California’s Student/Resident Experiences and Rotations in Community Health, which is a great opportunity for students and residents to get exposure to community clinics and health centers in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs) and to work with Medically Underserved Populations (MUPs).

Interdisciplinary Project Testing Opportunity

California Health Science Education and the National Consortium on Health Science Education (NCHSE) are seeking local education sites to field test a recently completed Health Science Interdisciplinary Curriculum Unit.

The Unit begins with an essential question: How can cultural healing practices be integrated into Western medicine to serve the best interest of the patient?

June Institute Presentation Materials Submission

Health Capacity Building Grant School Coordinators:

Pleased be advised that  your schools June Institute presentation time, date, and location are available from your mentor.  In addition, you need to send your mentor a copy of your Power Point (if any used in the Institute presentation), and digital copies of any handouts that are to be provided to the presentation attendees.  Your mentor needs this information no later than June 14th.
